BioPolyPac
Description: 
BioPolyCup will be designed and manufactured to provide consumers with an affordable, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing solution to enjoy drinks on the go, without any negative impact on the environment. Current cups are laminated with LDPE to make it liquid tight and heat sealable. The BioPolyPac cup will be manufactured with a biopolymer coating instead. This biopolymer will provide all of the current physical characteristics of the cup and on top will be fully recyclable and fully based on renewable raw material .

Description: 
A polyester film made of fermntation (bio technology) derived bio-building blocks is the lining of the paper board. But not only heat sealable and liquid retention properties are required by the packaging industry . Also a set of different application related qualities this bio polymer has to provide. The bio film must be applicable on extremely fast running machines in use by the industry (e. g. 300 cups/minute) from the printed blank to the finished cup, this means one needs -heat sealability -tensile strength -strechability (at forming the rim) -bendability -adhesion to the board base without blistering -water, milk, hot coffee, juice fastness up to 90°C Furthermore this bio film needs to complay with the food directives and needs to be absolutely tasteless and odorless
